Our Nurse Practitioners

Nurse practitioners are registered nurses with advanced training, experience and education. They do many of the things your doctor can, including prescribing medicine, treating common illnesses and administering vaccinations and physical examinations.

Physician assistants are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine under a collaborative agreement with physicians. They do many of the things your doctor can, including prescribing medicine, treating common illnesses and administering vaccinations and physical examinations.

Both nurse practitioners and physician assistants are qualified to:

  • Diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries.
  • Administer vaccinations, screenings and physicals.
  • Prescribe medication.
  • Obtain medical histories.
  • Perform physical assessments and examinations.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic and laboratory studies.
  • Counsel and teach health and nutrition.
  • Screen and refer patients to specialists and other health care providers.
  • Provide education and recommendations.

Dr. Manning as the medical director works closely with our physicians overseeing and reviewing their practices as added assurance that each patient is handled in the most appropriate manner.

Dr. Rick Manning, MD

Dr. John R Manning, MD

Graduated from the American University of the Caribbean December 1993 and went on to serve as assistant to Dr. Bill Jackson overseeing care for patients at auxiliary sites such as Seven Hawks Wilderness and New Life Lodge. He did his residency at UT-Jackson in 1996.

In 1997 he moved to Nashville to be close to his wife’s family and began residency at Meharry Mecial College. Best known by the senior patients for his compassionate bedside manners and by the youth for making balloons from exam gloves and being funny, Dr. Manning has gained the trust of all ages. At the present time, he serves as medical director for three clinics and several assisted living homes. Dr. Manning shares this "serving" life with his soul mate, Kelly, now retired from the nursing field she supports his activities and shares in his support of many community activities.

Mrs. Manning is often seen at Middle Tennessee Primary Care’s outreach events such as; PVES walking tour teaching CPR, Red Cross blood drive, Mobile Mammography screenings, the Cumberland Ball, Pink Out Pleasant View, various 5k’s, and wherever else she may be needed.

When not working, Dr. Manning can be most often found out with nature; fishing, bird watching, and relaxing.

Sheana Fox, FNP

Sheana Fox, FNP

Sheana Fox, serves as a nurse practitioner. She was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Lipscomb University, Magna Cum Laude in 2008 where she specialized as a burn critical care nurse. She graduated with her MSN from Austin Peay State University in 2012 with a specialty in family care. Her care approach is holistic so that she may ensure optimal health care outcomes.

Sheana is married to an educator and is the mother of a fabulous 3-year-old. Her hobbies include church, family and hockey. She is a true asset to MTPC and we invite you to come by and meet her.

Anna Erinle, MSM

Anna Erinle, MSM

Anna Erinle serves at MTPC as a certified physician assistant. She gladly calls Nashville home now after getting her MSM in Physician Assistant Studies at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2012. She also graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a biochemistry degree in 2009. Anna also comes to us with experience as an medical assistant in a pediatric clinic. Anna believes that one of her gifts is serving people and she enjoys bringing compassionate and thoughtful care to her patients.

HWhen she is not working, you can find Anna serving at her local church, cooking new and healthy recipes, reading a fun book or building relationships with those around her. She would love to get to know you here at MTPC.

Brittany, MSPAS

Brittany Norris, MSPAS

Brittany Norris is originally from Ohio but was raised in Northern Kentucky. She graduated with her BS in Biology from Western Kentucky University in 2007 and went right into the Physician Assistant program at South University in Savannah, Georgia. She graduated with her MSPAS in 2010 and moved to Tennessee with her husband who is stationed at Fort Campbell. She worked as a PA in Primary and Urgent Care at Fort Campbell for 2 years before landing at Middle Tennessee Primary Care in May 2013.

Brittany enjoys watching the Nashville Predators play, being involved at church, playing golf, playing tennis, exercising and running. She completed her first half marathon in October 2012 and plans to run a full marathon some day.
